for a graph the amount that go's up or down is the same for a table the number go's up or down at the same rate for an equation there is the same multiplication each time so it grows at the same rate
If the graph is a straight line, then it is linear. and it goes up and down it is the same A table goes down or up at a same rate In equations, when there are terms in bracket, and each bracket is multiplied with each and mostly equated to zero then its a linear.
From a graph, the data goes in a straight line any way on the graph. From a table, if the data changes at a consistent rate. from a equation, there is the same multiplication each time.
if the graph has a straight line that makes it linear when it goes up or down it stays at the same rate. When a table is linear then it stays at the same rate when it goes up or down. For an equation it goes up equally soo then it grows at the same rate
A linear relationship between 2 variables can be represented by a straight-line graph and then it is linear, it goes up and down as it is still the same. A table goes up or down at the same rate
equations:there are terms in a bracket as each bracket it it multiplied with each and equated 2 zero ( 0 ) then it will be a linear!!!!
-if its a graph it makes a straight line -if its a table it will go up or down at the same rate -if it equation it will have NO exponents with a variable
for a graph the amount that go's up or down is the same
ReplyDeletefor a table the number go's up or down at the same rate

Where does the multiplication show up in an equation? What are those parts called? What numbers in the table go up or down?

Can you please provide some examples? This would help to justify what you are thinking.
DeleteThe points implied by the table must fit the pattern
Deletey = mx + b, when m and b are constants
The equation may be solved for y.
Ok... I was thinking like what is an example of a linear table and a linear equation.
DeleteA relationship is linear
ReplyDeleteIf the graph is a straight line.
First difference of the y values is the same.
x and y in the equation is one
Ok I see graph. Where are equation and table?
DeleteGOOD JOB KYLE
DeleteFrom a graph, the data goes in a straight line any way on the graph.

from a equation, there is the same multiplication each time.
What do you mean the same multiplication each time on the equation? Show an example for each to help justify your thinking.

Talk a little more about the equation. I don't know what you mean by "it goes up equally so then it grows at the same rate". An example will help.

Sidney- Show me what you are thinking for equations. I am not sure what you mean.
DeleteOn a graph it has a line going up in a straight anyway up or down

This is really Donetta's post. Can you give some examples to support your thinking?
Deletea relationships is a relationship between to variables that when you graph the equation its going to be a strait line
ReplyDeleteYes, what does it look like in a table and an equation?
DeleteIf you graph the a equation it will a straight line
ReplyDeleteWhat about a table and an equation?
DeleteIn a table you can tell if there is a linear relationship if there is a constant rate of change.
ReplyDeleteIn a graph there is a strait line.
In an equation you can tell if the linear relationship is the same if the coefficent is the same.

ReplyDeleteGraph: When it has a straight line on the graph.
Table: When there is a pattern.
x | y
0 | 0
5 | 3
10 | 6
15 | 9
Equation: The numbers that represent the change.
